Fanatec Drivers: How to Install and Update Firmware for Your Sim Racing Hardware

Do you ever had written what you have just said in the site or in the prodcut page? Probably if i had known this problem i would buy another product and i think that is the reason about "fanatec's silence" about this issue.

I have this problem and tried several ways to solve it. Both the Fanatec solutions when it puts firmware 0, or trying to reload previous drivers, I can't update... The fan turns at maximum power but it never updates if the rest does. I sent a ticket to fanatec, but they don't give me a confirmation response as the e-mail has arrived or anything. I have the dd1 base under warranty. Can you tell me how long it takes to answer? Do you recommend that I resubmit a ticket? even though it says don't do it if there is already one sent.

I believe the latest driver that works with those wheels is v226, I'll check when I get home this afternoon, I don't believe the newer drivers support the older 'racing wheels'. I recently gave my brother my old Porsche GT2 wheel along with a copy of the latest driver that supports those wheels.

You mean the two rocker switches? They always worked in AMS2 and have nothing to do with a driver or Firmware. When a game supports them, then they work. And AMS2 always supported them, also with older drivers... ;)

Please kindly advise since we have spent a fortune on Fanatec equipment and on top another 100 euros for the bloody FH5 and same crashes every two minutes if you are on newer Fanatec drivers and not back in 356.

So I followed the instructions to update my DD2 to the latest 432 beta drivers (after I had installed the 431 two days ago) by performing a manual installation as indicated. However, once the driver update is finished, even when I reopen the Fanatec Control Panel in the lower left part, the 431 driver continues to appear installed and is available the message for a new driver (written in red). So I deduce that the manual update for some reason was not successful despite following the instructions at the beginning of the post...

I have the same problem. Would be nice to have a solution to this. I have tried 3 different PC's, different drivers (both official and beta) and nothing lets me update the motor firmware. I'm also stuck at 0 for the firmware.

hi guys, i had same issues as above and i managed to update the firmware. First after i installed the beta 347 driver, with the base turned off press and hold power button for 8 seconds, that will put the base into bootloader mode and you will have a blue light, and the firmware update window will appear on screen, then update firmware and after it finished i was able to go into fanatec update properties page and click on motor firmware update and the update window appeared, i selected the 22 firmware that I downloaded earlier and hit update. All is good now!

I can connect with the FwBaseUpdaterWindow.exe (Fanatec_64_driver_346.msi) under bootloader mode only after start the base up with pushing for 8 Seconds the start button (can not open the drivers via Gamecontroller menu: "There is a problem setting up the wheel control panel. Please reconnect the device and try again"):

Beside that: Shame on you, Fanatec! I understand, that you guys are a couple on engineers and only want to work on fancy new things. But your whole customer end is a bloody mess. You got pretty good (it is said...), but very expensive products, but there is a total void of customer support. It need me hours to get into your mess! That's an outrageous impertinence! When a new customer like me go to your homepage for the "latest drivers" via product page, he will get extremly outdated, not working drivers! Pls build in a fuckin link to this Forum instead! Also, if you follow some links to Youtube guides in your Instructions for use: Again very old and outdated. Then i got into this forum and find a official driver thread. Guess what? IT WAS EMPTY! It took ma again a lot of time to figure out, that there is nothing like a official working drivers and that i have to use some beta ones. Whats wrong with you guys? Is there anything working, somewhere?

Made it! Had to install the 328 drivers, flash the motor and then go back to the newer drivers. BUT all without quiting and restarting Win10. With restarts, I coudnt get to flash the Motor. This took forever! Now i can get via Windows Gamecontroller menu into the drivers for functions test and calibration. Only the handbrake is not found. But i take this meanwhile.

The "Find and delete any remaining Fanatec files and folders" is not needed, just uninstall it via add / remove programs under Windows settings, when it's uninstalled do a reboot, install new drivers and reboot (it's required) again, afterwards turn on the wheelbase and go through the guided firmware procedure.

The next step once you have downloaded the correct drivers is to install them. For this step, you need to ensure that your wheel is connected to your PC so that the drivers can install directly onto your wheel.

Once you have successfully updated the drivers and firmware for each of your Fanatec products, you can disconnect your wheel base from your computer. Then you can connect it to whichever console or platform you are racing on.

You should regularly check the Fanatec website to ensure you are running the most up-to-date drivers and firmware for your products. Simply work this into your monthly routine and you should always be up-to-date.

This is an official driver which will be also available on the official driver download page next week which will then also trigger the update notifications in older drivers which have that feature already implemented (so every driver since 431).

The latest driver v447 from Fanatec for the DD2 (and all of their wheelbases including the excellent CSL Elite) includes the 32 and 64bit Windows drivers and motor firmware, a changelog and driver installation instructions.

SRO Motorsports Group is embarking on an overhaul of its driver categorization system for Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, which will see faster young drivers with karting and single-seater racing backgrounds assigned to Gold status.

On the left side of the updater, it says "progress and instructions" and for me, it's never ticked off the pre-install driver.I have installed the 144 driver to the computer before doing the firmwire update and have tried updating it with both the newest and the original drivers. - I've also tried to install any and all of the possible firmwire updates. all of which have left me with the same message.I have absolutely no idea where it's going wrong. The only thought I have is it may be down to the Virtual HID's that my keyboard and mouse install as part of their driver package. but I am doubtful of that.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Late to this topic, but in searching online for a solution to the "port driver pre-install" issue, I eventually found the solution and totally replicable. I recently did a clean install of Windows 8.1, and turns out for windows 8 non-registered .cat files / drivers are not accepted. Since I'm assuming the Fanatec driver is not registered, it's been rejected by the OS hence the failed attempt. All you have to do is override the OS' blocking of unregistered drivers and voila, no install issues. I think it may be disabled for only one boot as well, so not ongoing security issue (but haven't verified this).

GT racing has always had amateur drivers at its heart. The Fanatec GT2 European Series has been formulated to bring gentlemen drivers back to the front of the stage, offering world-class GT cars run by professional teams, but within a more relaxed atmosphere where they can thrive.

The Fanatec GT2 European Series is moulded around mature amateur drivers, offering extensive track time, a level playing field and the hospitality that comes as part and parcel of a high-level motor racing event.

This year the Total Energies 24hr of Spa will play host to Round 3 of the Fanatec Esports GT Pro Series where real drivers will compete for points in the Endurance Cup, however, the weekend will also host a second virtual race wherein SRO Esports' best sim racers will go head-to-head on location at the Fanatec Arena.

The competition will be run on the Assetto Corsa Competizione (PC) simulation developed by Kunos Simulazioni. The event is organised by SRO Motorsports Group & AK Esports in order to create an incredibly competitive event capable of promoting Esports racing. The organiser reserves the right to edit the regulations at any time. Any changes to the regulations will be communicated to all the drivers via the established channels.

- All drivers must join the official Discord server of the GT World Challenge Esports. The official Discord server is considered the main channel of communication between the Organiser, Race Direction and Drivers.

Registration to this Pre-Qualifying is free, however drivers that successfully qualify will have to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses. SRO Esports will provide food & beverage vouchers to sim drivers who are not supported by a manufacturer on-site.

The top 14 drivers in the standings will be eligible to qualify. However, there is a limit of 3 drivers per manufacturer. Once a manufacturer has 3 drivers, any other drivers in the leaderboard registered to that manufacturer will not qualify, even if they have qualified within the top 14.

e.g. If the top 4 drivers are all in the Porsche, then only the top 3 drivers will successfully qualify and P15 would qualify instead of P4 (if P15 is also not in a manufacturer that already has 3 drivers).

Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN F1 Esports will take another step forward as Fanatec, the leading sim racing hardware brand, joins the team in a partnership for the 2021 season. The Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN F1 Esports drivers will be able to practice and race with the Fanatec Podium Racing Wheel F1 and CSL Elite Pedals with CSL Elite Pedals Loadcell Kit, the golden standard in esports, giving them the most immersive, realistic and true-to-life experience possible. 2ff7e9595c
